The objective of the assignment was to understand and document current practices, identify process bottlenecks, non-value adding activities and inadequate internal controls of expenditure bill processing at BESCOM, a state-run power distribution and supply company. The assignment also included providing recommendations to overcome the gaps identified.
MaGC Approach and Methodology
Process flow charts covering key processes of expenditure bill processing were prepared using MaGC’s time tested tool for process mapping, LAMP™. Process weaknesses were analysed across key dimensions namely Policy, Process, People and Technology applying MaGC’s 3PT® framework. Similarly, recommendations to address the gaps were categorized under Policy, Process, People and Technology.
